Recording Studio Design
High quality acoustics were the prime consideration throughout the design and construction of Fulcrum Studio. These were achieved with the inventive application of readily available building materials, with the added benefit of an aesthetically pleasing interior.
Not only is the studio a great sounding room, it also caters for the human requirements of temperature control and ventilation, in order to perform optimally for those in the room.
With high level guidance from internationally renown acoustician Philip Newell, who has designed and overseen the building of many hundreds of professional studios around the world, Richard created a space that puts recording and reproduction of music at the top of the agenda.
The studio design achieves a high degree of room-to-room compatibility, with a flat frequency response. Music produced at the studio not only sounds great in the room itself, but most importantly when played back in other locations.
A monitor wall with flush mounted loudspeakers, acoustically absorptive wood wool walls and ceiling, hidden waveguide panels at the rear of the room and an acoustically isolated ‘room within a room’ structure are highlights of the considerable work that went into making Fulcrum Studio sound as good as it does.
